Orlando fire chief accused of road rage

ORANGE COUNTY, FL &#8211 An Orlando fire chief is being accused of road rage. A man in his 50’s says the chief grabbed him by the throat and slammed his head. Now he wants him fired.

Dave Bremer filed a complaint Tuesday against Chief Rob Rivenbark. Bremer claims a month ago that rivernbark threatened to kill him and that it all started when he accidentally rear-ended the chief.

Bremer was on his way home when he says he accidentally bumped the van Chief Rivernbark was driving. Then the next thing he knows he claims the chief had him in a choke hold and threatened to kill him. “He grabbed me by the neck and the hair and started cursing and banging my head against the inside of my jeep,” said Bremer.

The city of Orlando says Rivenbark was off duty at the time of his arrest but he was still wearing his uniform.

Under the law for firefighters the chief is allowed back at work until the investigation is over.

The city says it won’t make any changes until Rivenbark has his day in court.
