DELRAY BEACH, Fla. (CBS12) — The firefighters union in Delray Beach agreed to the new vaccination policy for city employees.
Earlier this month, the city required all employees to show proof of vaccination or face weekly testing.
The International Association of Firefighters (IAFF) Local 1842 reached an agreement with the city. Talks with the police and service employees unions are ongoing, says city spokesperson Gina Carter.
Workers have until Aug. 30 to get the vaccine.
City workers must also wear a mask while at work and share a workspace or enter a public area and interact with the public.
