Rich Langford, president of Local 734 acknowledged the idea of body cameras for firefighters in Baltimore City during an interview with Kim Klacik on Wednesday but said there are bigger concerns that need to be taken care of.
“In this department, we have many other issues that need financial backing – apparatus, stations, training,” Langford said. “We have a lot of things we need to look at before we start just jumping to the gun and saying we need body cameras and all this.”
Langford said that a two-year study was conducted that was funded by taxpayers on the need for firefighters.
