A former Allentown police officer who admitted he stole $315,000 from the Fireman’s Relief Fund Association of Lehigh Township won’t be allowed to collect his pension, according to a prosecutor.
Corey Edward Cole Jr. fought unsuccessfully over the past two years to collect his pension despite the cloud of the criminal charges, according to Northampton County Assistant District Attorney Jim Augustine. Cole, 44, of Northampton, took the money between 2011 and 2018 when he served as treasurer of the fund, police said. He spent the money on restaurants, online shopping and entertainment, police said.
