Baltimore ‘Does Not Have The Luxury Of Waiting’ For New Officers, Says FOP

BALTIMORE (WBFF) — The Baltimore Police Union is criticizing Baltimore Police Department’s new incentive program aimed at addressing its officer shortage.

In a letter, the President of the Fraternal Order of Police wrote the program does nothing to fix BPD’s attrition problem.

The latest data provided by the Baltimore Police Department shows the department lost more officers than it hired each month, from January through July of 2022.
