Decatur Firefighters Change Work Schedule To Help Recruitment

DECATUR, Ala. – Decatur firefighters are now on a new work schedule. The hope is that it will help with recruiting new firefighters and keeping the ones the city already has.

Decatur firefighters now work on a 48-96 schedule, meaning firefighters will work a 48-hour shift, before having four days off in a row.

This is instead of the original schedule, which had firefighters work for 24 hours, then have two days off.
